** CALL FOR PARTICIPATION ** http://enlg2009.uvt.nl/ 12th EUROPEAN WORKSHOP ON NATURAL LANGUAGE GENERATION (ENLG 2009) ENLG 2009 is organized as an EACL workshop, and will take place on 30 and 31 March 2009 in Athens, Greece. Invited speakers are: Regina Barzilay (MIT, USA) Kees van Deemter (University of Aberdeen, UK) The ENLG 2009 workshop continues a biennial series of workshops on natural language generation that has been running since 1987, providing a regular forum for presentation of research in this area, both for NLG specialists and for researchers from other areas. PROGRAM Topics that will be addressed at ENLG include the generation of referring expressions, text-to-text generation, NLG applications, the use of game theory for NLG, machine learning approaches to generation, affective NLG, and NLG in interactive settings. The results of two shared-task evaluation efforts will be presented at ENLG 2009: the GIVE Challenge on Generating Instructions in a Virtual Environment and the TUNA Progress Test on the generation of distinguishing descriptions.
