Lecturer in Mathematical Logic

The Department of Pure Mathematics is one of the three component departments of 
the School of Mathematics (together with Applied Mathematics and Statistics); 
all three departments were rated at grade 5 in RAE 2001.

The successful applicant will play a full role in the School, contributing to 
the research activity, undergraduate and graduate teaching and administrative 
duties as directed.

Candidates must have a PhD (or equivalent) in Pure Mathematics, or a closely 
related field, and a promising track record of research in Mathematical Logic. 
Preference may be given to candidates who work in an area around Proof Theory, 
Constructive Mathematics, and/or applications of Logic to Computer Science.

The starting date for this post is January 1, 2009, but a later date may be 
negotiated.
