Newton International Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers to come to the UK

Newton International Fellowships Scheme for post-doctoral researchers.

What are the essential details for applicants?

important points are:

- - The Scheme is open to applications from all subject areas of the 
natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities covered by 
the three academies (i.e. The British Academy, The Royal Academy of 
Engineering and the Royal Society)

- - Applicants should have completed a PhD and have up to six years' 
postdoctoral experience, or equivalent experience at a comparable level.

- - Applicants should be working outside the UK and should not hold UK 
citizenship at the time of application. Researchers al ready based in the
 
UK are not eligible to apply.

- - The don't pay fEC. Fellowships are tenable for a period of two years.
 
Funding will consist of 24,000 per annum for subsistence costs, and 
8,000 per annum research expenses, as well as a one-off payment of 2,
000 
for relocation expenses.

- - The closing date for the first round of applications wil l be 4 August
 
2008. Results are normally available 3 months after the closing date.
