Methodology 2006: Santiniketan, India (Jan 2006)

International Conference
METHODOLOGY 2006
Jan 8-10, 2006
Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, India

Methodology was always an integral part of philosophy and part of every
science. From this perspective, methodology includes any foundational
questions. There are reasons to believe that much of Indian realist
philosophical systems have their methodological concerns. In this
conference, we plan to have wide-ranging discussions on general
methodological problems like problem of truth/falsity of scientific
theories, ontology and knowledge claims made in the sciences in general,
relativism etc. as well as various foundational issues in special sciences
like mathematics including logic and computer science, specific natural
sciences, including linguistics, cognitive science and social sciences
like sociology and economics.

We plan to have five sections:

   General Methodology
   Methodology of Natural Sciences
   Methodology of Formal Sciences
   Methodology of Social Sciences
   Indian Philosophy and Methodological Concerns
