Position as Associate Director of DIMACS (Rutgers University)

Associate Director and Tenured Faculty Member, DIMACS Center, Rutgers
University

The DIMACS Center at Rutgers University (dimacs.rutgers.edu) seeks
applications for the position of Associate Director. This is a faculty
position with tenure at the Associate or Full Professor level in an
appropriate department such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or
Statistics. The Associate Director will be expected to play a leadership
role in organizing DIMACS activities, and in developing new programs,
seeking funding for them, and reporting on them. The Associate Director
will also be expected to maintain a research program, teach (with a
limited load), and play a role in their department. Candidates must have a
strong research record suitable for a tenured appointment and leadership
position at the University in a field related to DIMACS' work, for
example, discrete mathematics, theoretical computer science, operations
research, connections of dm/tcs to statistics, or applications of dm/tcs
to other areas of science and/or engineering. The candidate should
demonstrate breadth of scientific interests and concern for teaching at
multiple levels. Since the position involves significant grant related
activity, a successful record of grant funding is strongly preferred. The
successful candidate should express interest in assuming directorship of
DIMACS at an appropriate time in the future.

For further information, please contact Professor David Madigan, Chair of
the Search Committee (dmadigan@rutgers.edu). Applications should include a
CV and letters of recommendation and should be sent electronically to
Christine Spassione (spassion@dimacs.rutgers.edu). Applications will be
considered as they are received until December 5, but later applications
will be considered if the position has not been filled.
