Are you interested in publishing your AI research and, at the same time,
helping to turn them into features of products used by many leading
companies?  Are you interested in working near Paris?

IBM Research is setting up a new team at the IBM Artificial Intelligence
Co-Innovation Center in Paris-Saclay. It will be dedicated to the
development of safe, explainable and responsible AI systems utilizing
knowledge-based and data-driven AI techniques. The new team will work with
IBM?s global Research team and will be co-located with the French software
development teams in charge of IBM business rules, decision automation and
decision optimization products.  IBM Research is hiring Research Scientists
interested in solving problems related but not limited to the following:

    - How to derive an understandable decision model from data,  e.g., how
    to derive decision rules that guide credit allocation?
    - How can human interaction improve rule discovery from data ?
    - How to combine prior knowledge and machine learning to learn from less
    data?

Required skills:


    - PhD in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer science,
    applied mathematics, signal processing, statistics, or a related technical
    field
    - Ability to conduct independent research in knowledge induction,
    machine learning, NLP, or reasoning as demonstrated by a strong research
    track record (i.e. primary author publications in AI/ML key conferences
    such as IJCAI, AAAI, ICLR, ICML, NeurIPS, KDD)
    - Strong programming and communication skills
